Home Depot hires 80,000 workers signaling spring homebuying season

Spring is just around the corner

Home Depot announced it will hire 80,000 seasonal workers, further cementing that the spring homebuying season is almost here, according to an article by Aaron Smith in CNN Money.

From CNN Money:

"Spring is really our Christmas," said Home Depot spokesman Stephen Holmes. "It's our holiday season."

This means that each of Home Depot's 2,000 stores in the U.S. will hire 40 to 45 workers. He said the company is also hiring in Canada.

Freddie Mac recently predicted that housing activity would grow in 2016 despite monetary tightening, with total housing starts expected to increase 16% year-over-year and total home sales to increase 3%.
