Black Knight's home price index for October reports that Western states took up the majority of the top 10 biggest movers, kicking states like New York and Florida off the list.
Six of the top 10 states were in the West, with Montana landing first place at 0.8% growth. This is up from seventh place in September at 0.3% growth.
In comparison, only two western states made the list in September and four in August.
