Last week on LendingLife, we ran a fun spot on the most-loved mortgage lenders, judging by their score on the employee-rating website, Glassdoor.
We at LendingLife prefer to present the positive aspects of housing and mortgage finance when possible, so we jumped at the idea of publishing such a list.
Some loved the list (see what I did there?) while others objected to the list. Some didn’t like that The Money Source was a source of some of the info, while also being highly rated on the provided list (that’s fair).
But no one made a better case for inclusion than James Duncan, RMLO, who is also the director of education and engagement at Thrive Mortgage.
James wrote to me that Thrive recently, successfully rebranded and also completed the first digital mortgage in Texas (his claim), and is growing both its construction loan and consumer-direct operations. But, more importantly, James said that people LOVE working for Thrive.
“I know that our ratings on Glassdoor are 98% recommend to a friend, 99% approval of our CEO (Roy Jones), and an overall rating of 4.8,” Duncan writes. “My guess is that due to the size of our company (350 employees company-wide) we only have a total of 64 Glassdoor reviews. Either that or our 2017 revenue was just under $1 Billion. (That, by the way, is going to change very soon.)"
Duncan has a point, Thrive was excluded based on the list criteria and nothing else. To land in the top, companies needed 4 out of 5 stars, at least. Thrive has that.
But, other criteria meant that the lender needed more than $5 billion in volume and more than 75 reviews.
However, James’ taking iniative to reach out and fight for his partner lenders is an important one and proves that lenders love Thrive, too.
