Nationstar Mortgage, now known as Mr. Cooper, recently announced that Kelly Ann Doherty has joined its executive team as chief communications officer.
Mr. Cooper CEO Jay Bray said Doherty has been essential in evolving Mr. Cooper’s media outreach and social media channels.
“Kelly Ann is a proven strategic communications expert and has played a key leadership role in crafting and promoting our company’s story through several major initiatives, including the Mr. Cooper brand launch and the recent WMIH holding company merger,” Bray said.
The company announced its merger with WMIH Corp., the former parent company of Washington Mutual, was completed last week. The newly combined company is expected to lean hard into the Mr. Cooper brand.
Bray also stated that Doherty has cultivated a working environment that is providing better tools and opportunities for team members to interact with one another.
“Kelly Ann is well known across our organization as an advocate for team members and our values, and in her new position, she will be integral in our efforts to further enhance our people-first culture.”
Doherty joined Mr. Cooper in 2016 as the senior vice president of corporate communications, back when it was known as Nationstar. She is expected to continue leading the company’s corporate communications functions including media relations, team member communications, issues management external affairs and social media.
However, in her new position, Doherty will also be a key leader in supporting culture initiatives to create a “positive, encouraging and empowering work environment” that puts customers first.
“Kelly Ann is the ultimate champion of our values, keeping the team member and customer experience at the top of mind in all she does,” Bray stated. “She is an amazing addition to our leadership team, and I look forward to the ideas and vision she will bring to the table.”
