Working for Fannie Mae is about to get extremely enviable

New facility to die for

Fannie Mae’s new office tower in Granite Park, located in Plano, Texas will start construction soon, right off the Dallas North Tollway and State Highway 121.

However, the area of construction will be the envy of the mortgage finance world, and here's why.

The move puts it smack dab in the middle of a quickly developing corporate headquarter cornucopia in the northern DFW suburbs, on the Plano/Frisco border.

That area is home to massive furniture outlets, a sprawling mall, several artisan hamburger restaurants, an indoor skydiving facility, plenty of golf options and, most importantly, rapidly appreciating home prices.

How boom is this spot?

Well, America's most valuable NFL team will soon move their practices there; the Dallas Cowboys.

According to the Dallas Morning News:

The 10-story, 300,000-square-foot tower will be the sixth office high-rise in the developer’s 17-year-old Granite Park project at the southeast corner of Dallas North Tollway and State Highway 121.

“We’re on a fast track to build that project,” said Granite president Greg Fuller.

The new tower, designed by Dallas architecture, interior design, planning and strategic services firm BOKA Powell, will house regional offices for the government-backed mortgage company’s more than 1,000 employees.

“We’ve been fortunate to be involved in Granite Park since the very start,” principal Don Powell was quoted saying.

After spending more than six months considering its optionsFannie Mae picked a new office location north of Dallas that will consolidate its operations in the Dallas metro area from three locations to one.

According to various reports in the Dallas media, including the Dallas Business Journal and the Dallas Morning News, Fannie Mae selected a 300,000 square foot office space in Plano’s Granite Park development to serve as its new regional headquarters.

The article states that the office tower on Granite Parkway is scheduled to open in October 2017. However, sources at Fannie Mae push the opening to early 2018.

However, the point of this tracker is to show you evidence that lower rates have already changed housing data. So, let’s […]
