Home prices erased all of November's gains and dropped back down 0.1% in December, with the average home price index staying at $241, according to Black Knight’s December home price index.
U.S. home prices ended last year only 10.2% off their June 2006 peak.

While recovery continues in both states, Arizona and Florida still remain about 30% off their pre-crisis peaks. However, the top 10 performing metro areas are still dominated by Florida.

The Texas housing market finally simmered down and leveled off after hitting a new peak in December.
Instead, New York and Colorado both saw price increases in December, overcoming winter's seasonal effects. Colorado’s home prices hit a new high yet again in December.
Lastly, monthly declines were seen in 23 of 40 largest states.
