FDIC, other federal buildings lose power

Outage only lasts a few minutes

The White House, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Federal Reserve and several other federal buildings lost power for a short time on Monday morning due to a transformer explosion at the Office of Personnel Management, according to a CNN article.

No injuries have been reported, and the outage was not a result of "terrorist activities" or "foul play", according to D.C. Police Spokesman Araz Alali.

The White House outage only lasted for a few seconds, according to reporters in the building when it happened.
