As co-founder and CEO of Aven, Sadi Khan is transforming homeownership into a tool for unlocking financial goals. His company’s patented HELOC-backed Home Credit Card provides homeowners with the lowest-cost credit, combining speed, convenience, and guaranteed low HELOC rates. Khan is pioneering a new category of smarter credit, leveraging home equity to make lending more accessible and cost-effective.
Before founding Aven, Khan studied the Dodd-Frank Act and consumer protection laws to ensure the product’s legality and responsibility. He then assembled a team of designers, engineers, and lawyers to build patented technology that modernizes processes, including remote electronic notarization. His hands-on approach balances meticulous attention to detail with a strong product vision.
Under Khan’s leadership, Aven has scaled to over 70 employees and raised a $142 million Series D, valuing the company at more than $1 billion. The platform has served over 50,000 customers, helping them access more than $2 billion in credit and saving over $150 million in interest. Aven also achieved its first AAA securitization rating with unprecedented speed and continues to expand, planning to hire 30 engineers by the end of 2025.
Khan’s background includes product leadership roles at Facebook and Microsoft, and he holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo. By combining technical expertise, operational rigor, and visionary leadership, he has grown Aven from a single-product company to a multi-product platform while maintaining quality, compliance, and innovation.
What is one habit you swear by?
Simplify, simplify, simplify. I find it helpful to wear the same thing every day. It reduces my cognitive load to wear a uniform every single day: usually a black, long-sleeved shirt and Patagonia vest. I switch it up on occasion with a black sweater with the “Aven” logo on it, to commemorate the day we hit 50,000 customers.
