Ravi Jani plays a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy of Real, the fastest-growing public residential real estate brokerage. As the VP of Investor Relations and Financial Planning, he collaborates directly with the CEO and CFO to drive investor engagement, financial discipline and long-term value creation. Since joining Real in September 2023, Jani has significantly transformed the company’s investor relations function, expanding Wall Street and institutional engagement while strengthening financial systems to support scalable growth. He introduced data-driven insights, most notably Real’s Agent Survey, which has become a key industry benchmark influencing corporate and market-wide decision-making.
Jani’s contributions have been crucial in enhancing Real’s credibility with investors, which helped increase the company’s stock price by over 200% since his arrival. He has streamlined financial reporting systems and taken ownership of long-range planning and capital allocation initiatives, ensuring efficient capital deployment to fuel growth and innovation.
In addition, Jani launched Real’s monthly Agent Survey in 2024, providing real-time insights on agent sentiment, transaction trends and market conditions. The survey quickly gained attention from industry leaders, the investment community and the trade press. Jani is also passionate about financial literacy, leading sessions for real estate agents to help them adopt a long-term investor mindset.
With a unique blend of investor and operator experience, Jani brings a disciplined, long-term growth approach to Real, helping the company remain a technology leader in the brokerage sector and position itself for sustained success.
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
The best advice I’ve ever received is Ben Graham’s insight: “In the short run, the market is a voting machine, but in the long run, it is a weighing machine.”
While it’s a quote about the stock market, it applies far beyond investing — it’s a principle for business, leadership and life. Hype, sentiment and short-term noise can shape outcomes temporarily, but over time, hard work, fundamentals and execution determine success.
The people and companies that focus on the long game ultimately win. It’s a mindset I bring to every decision I make, and one I encourage others to embrace: stay patient, focus on the work and let the results speak for themselves over time.
