From legacy to leadership: Lone Wolf Technology’s vision for the next era of real estate technology

In this executive sit-down, HousingWire President Diego Sanchez interviews Lone Wolf Technologies CEO Jimmy Kelly and SVP of Strategy Jake Hamilton about the company’s evolving role in real estate technology. From their deep experience in tech and real estate to the strategic direction they’re driving at LoneWolf, both leaders share how their leadership is shaping one of the industry’s most pivotal platforms.

They discuss the growth of Foundation, LoneWolf’s cloud-native platform launched one year ago, and break down the importance of interoperability, even with competitors. Whether it’s debunking the myth that Lone Wolf only serves large enterprises or explaining what “cloud native” really means for brokers and agents, this conversation cuts through the noise and delivers clear takeaways.

“I’ve been at Lone Wolf for six and a half years,” said Kelly. “What drew me here was the chance to sit in the CEO chair for the first time — and to lead a mission-driven company. Both my parents are real estate agents, so I understand how important our role is in shaping the agent-consumer relationship.”

Hamilton, who has a background in technology consulting, shared the sentiment. “My wife has her license. My mom worked for a homebuilder. When the opportunity to join Lone Wolf came along, it was a no-brainer. I wanted to roll up my sleeves and be part of something dynamic and forward-thinking.”

One of Lone Wolf’s biggest innovations to date is Foundation, launched as a real estate industry cloud. “Foundation is the culmination of years of strategy, planning, and investment,” Kelly explained. “We integrated tools like CRM, digital marketing, transaction management — everything — into one platform. It looks the same, feels the same, and offers a unique and consistent user experience.”

Lone Wolf is sometimes perceived as being focused only on large brokerages and accounting software, but Hamilton clarified this isn’t the case. “That’s absolutely a misperception,” he said. “We’re here for everyone — from individual agents to startup brokers to top franchises. Everyone deserves enterprise-grade tech. We even have a dedicated sales team for under-10-agent shops.”

Kelly touches on the company’s collaborative approach. “We integrate with competitive products,” said Kelly. “I might think our software is the best on the planet, but not everyone will agree — and that’s okay. We want to give brokers visibility into their data, regardless of what CRM they’re using.”

Hamilton added, “A closed platform isn’t authentic to who we are. If our mission is to simplify real estate, we need to work with all the other tech providers out there. Clients shouldn’t have to worry about what tech stack they’re on.”

Looking ahead, Kelly believes AI will become a normalized, even expected, part of real estate tech. “We’re just scratching the surface. AI will be a commoditized component of any platform,” he said. “But I also think we’re heading toward a full homeownership lifecycle platform — from mortgage to title to insurance, and eventually to post-close services.”

What role will Lone Wolf play in that full-service future? “At least as a component,” Kelly said, “if not someone that’s going to lead in that scenario.”
