Chris Mayer: Housing policy, securitization and building the nation’s largest wholesale revere mortgage lender

On today’s episode, HW Media CEO Clayton Collins sits down with Chris Mayer, CEO of the fastest-growing major reverse mortgage lender, Longbridge Financial. Chris is also a professor of finance at Columbia Business School, has held positions at the Federal Reserve and has spent his career publishing his writing on housing and mortgages in top academic journals.

Today, he and Clayton talk about his experience working in the Federal Reserve and how he is interpreting some of the Fed’s messaging regarding our current market. They also talked about building a reverse mortgage lender and his thesis behind why Chris started Longbridge — and whether that thesis still holds true today.
