Flat Rates this Week Remain Seasonally Low
Jun 25, 2009Mortgage rates across the board remained relatively flat, moving up or down only a few basis points (bps) in the week ending June 25, according to a weekly survey released today by mortgage giant Freddie Mac [stock FRE][/stock]. The average 30-year fixed mortgage rate rose to 5.42% with an average 0.7 point in the week ending June 25, from 5.38% a week earlier. The rate averaged 6.45% at the same time last year, more than a full percentage point above the rates seen this week.
