A Kinder, Gentler Appraisal Reform 

After a story in the most recent issue of HousingWire Magazine questioned the fate of a bid to change the real estate appraisal process at Fannie Mae [stock FNM][/stock] and Freddie Mac [stock FRE][/stock], it appears that regulators and government officials have finally decided on a revised set of appraisal standards for the GSEs and a revised implementation date of May 1, 2009.
