Keller Williams president Marc King on what’s ahead
Today’s HousingWire Daily features a crossover episode with RealTrending, a podcast that focuses on interviewing the brightest minds in real estate. In this episode, Tracey Velt, managing editor at RealTrends, a HousingWire sister company, interviews Keller Williams’ new president, Marc King.
During the episode, King answers the tough questions about KW’s leadership changes, where the company is going next and why he’s the right leader for today’s KW.
Here is a small preview of the interview, which has been lightly edited for length and clarity:
Tracey Velt: Gary Keller has always been at the forefront of trends in the real estate industry and has chosen leaders to fit his vision. That’s meant a change in leadership every few years, which generally sets the industry abuzz. So what is the vision of Keller Williams today?
Marc King: I love this question, Tracey, because our vision has always remained the same. Keller Williams wants to be the real estate company of choice for agents and their customers. The tactics may be different. Every leader we’ve had has been the right leader in the moment. Our vision isn’t changing. How we’re getting there has changed a few times. A company this size doesn’t usually pivot and change as fast as we do. We’re constantly reinventing and reiterating. That comes straight from Gary Keller who’s an extremely learning-based individual. We’re constantly lobbing different approaches at our agents in the field. That’s why it appears to be quick change. For us, it’s normal.
