Reverse Mortgage Leaders Join Forces in NCOA Benefit at Annual Meeting

This year, several reverse mortgage leaders attending the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association annual meeting in San Antonio will team up to host a single evening fundraising event for conference attendees. The cowboy-themed party, to take place Monday, October 15 at 7 pm, will raise money to benefit the National Council on Aging.

“With everyone in the past being in the habit of throwing big individual parties, we thought we’d take those resources to do something as an industry that benefits our senior clients,” says Rhiannon Behnke of Security One Lending, one of the lenders hosting the event.

With support from several industry vendors including Landmark Network, Coester VMSJB Nutter, ReverseVision, Mortgage Cadence and Bay Docs, the event will feature dinner and entertainment (think: armadillo races and line dancing), and all NRMLA convention attendees will be invited.

The hosting companies include American Advisors Group, Generation Mortgage, One Reverse Mortgage, Premier Reverse Closings, Reverse Mortgage Solutions, Security One Lending and Urban Financial Group, and are suggesting a small contribution from each attendee at the door. All funds raised will go to NCOA as a donation toward the organization’s general initiatives to help seniors.

“We are going to grow as an industry by working together,” says Kimberly Kerrigan-Smith, executive vice president of Generation Mortgage. “This event is a perfect example of our industry coming together for a common goal, to help seniors.”
