Reverse Mortgage Event to Discuss Policy and Issues Affecting Texas

The Texas Mortgage Bankers Association will host the 9th annual “Reverse Mortgage Day” in Dallas, Texas on August 3rd. This day-long conference will be held at the Dallas Westin Galleria beginning at 8:30 am until 4 pm. Mortgage lenders, secondary market experts, and real estate attorneys from across the country will gather to discuss policies and issues affecting the industry in the upcoming decade.

“Everyone in and around the industry can benefit from this conference,” says Scott Norman, President of the Texas Mortgage Bankers Association. “When you consider our diverse agenda, the large number of lenders and title companies who will be in attendance, and the reasonable cost of this conference, everyone who comes to Dallas will find something of value.”

Attendees of all experience levels will be exposed to a forum focusing on a wide-range of topics including Congressional updates, secondary market issues, marketing, and sessions that center exclusively around the loan originator. Speakers include Norman along with Jeff Lewis of Generation Mortgage, Joe Kelly of New View Advisors, Jim Milano of Weiner, Brodsky, Sidman & Kider, PC, and Barbara Howard, director of Gerontology at the MetLife Mature Market Institute in Westport, Connecticut., and many others.  Seminar topic will range from issues such as “The Existential Threats Facing the Industry” to subjects like “Secondary Markets” and “Aging of America.”

“Knowing how fast this industry continues to evolve, each topic has been picked to have some everyday relevance in today’s marketplace,” says Norman. “Without question, the highlight of this event will be our afternoon panels. One reason this conference continues to grow is because of our strong focus on originators. Our afternoon sessions will center on top originators – and what they are doing in the field that works for them.”

Reverse Mortgage Day began in 2001 with the original concept of promoting Reverse Mortgages in Texas. And while that is still a goal, Reverse Mortgage Day has grown into an impressive educational opportunity for service providers and lenders from all corners of American, evolving into one of the premier networking events for the industry.

However, the point of this tracker is to show you evidence that lower rates have already changed housing data. So, let’s […]
