Margaret Burns, Director of Single Family Program Development will be leaving the US Department of Housing and Urban Development in two weeks to accept a position at the Federal Housing Finance Agency said the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association.
Over the years, Burns has played an important role in the development of the HECM program and has been very supportive of the reverse mortgage industry.
“Meg Burns has been an exemplary government official,” said NRMLA President Peter Bell. “She has shown a tireless commitment to her Department, to the individual programs operated by the Department, to the business people who interact with and depend on the department.”
“She has been forthright with reverse mortgage professionals when they misused the program and their biggest booster when their efforts helped realize its potential. Meg possesses a large vision of the affect that government can have on society and all of us treasured and benefited from that. We will truly miss her wisdom, her enthusiasm and her humor.”
Meg has been a huge asset to the industry and there is no doubt she will be missed. Donna Tomposki, Deputy Director at HUD will temporarily take over until a replacement is found said NRMLA.
