FirstBank Adds New Reverse Mortgage Origination Team Members

FirstBank is expanding its presence in the reverse mortgage space with several new hires.

FirstBank’s reverse mortgage division, headquartered in Birmingham, Ala., is growing with the recent hires of Pete Mendenhall, Certified Reverse Mortgage Professional (CRMP); Mark Clark, CRMP; Tim Burchett; Tim Crawford; Hal Edwards; and Phil McLeod, all previously from the reverse division of North American Savings Bank. The new hires will serve as originators.

Dan Barksdale, reverse division manager, and Ed O’Connor, home equity conversion mortgage (HECM) division sales/marketing manager announced the hiring.

When North American decided to exit the reverse space, FirstBank saw a “perfect fit,” the company said in a statement.

“We are extremely excited about bringing an experienced team that works so well together,” Barksdale said.

Additionally, both Clark and Mendenhall have attained their CRMP designation from NRMLA “which shows an extra layer of commitment and expertise to the industry,” the company said.

All will be reporting directly to David Karcher, call center manager.
