FHA acting commissioner Galante to headline REperform

The acting commissioner of Federal Housing Administration, Carol Galante, along with Treasury and Freddie Mac executives will headline HousingWire’s 2012 REperform Summit for mortgage servicers.

Galante, also acting assistant secretary of housing at the U.S. Housing and Urban Development Department, will keynote the conference.

Featured speakers at the Oct. 3-5 Dallas summit include Laurie Maggiano, director of policy at the Treasury Department and one of the original architects of the Home Affordable Modification Program. Representatives from Freddie MacVice President of Servicer Relationship & Performance Management, Ty Miller and the VP of Home Steps James “Chris” Bowden — will also be sharing their mortgage servicing insight during a panel on the final day of the conference.

REperform is designed to help mortgage servicers thrive and prosper in a sector that’s undergone its share of turmoil in recent years. The conference will tackle operations, legislative/compliance issues and litigation — subjects often addressed in separate conferences — all in one setting.

Key speakers also include Brian Montgomery, chairman of The Collingwood Group, a Washington D.C.-based real estate finance consulting firm and a former FHA commissioner. Montgomery also served as deputy assistant to the president and cabinet secretary under President George W. Bush where he directed the office that helped manage the president’s relationship with his cabinet and federal agencies.

The event also will include an interview the Bruce Rose, the founder, CEO and general partner of Carrington Holding Co.
