FHA Requests Feedback On Lender Handbook

The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) is seeking stakeholder feedback on two draft sections in the Single Family Housing Policy Handbook through Feb. 22.

The agency began developing the handbook in 2013 in an effort to consolidate all FHA Single Family policies and requirements into one authoritative source.

The draft Doing Business with FHA—Other Participants in the FHA Transactions section contains information regarding eligibility, approval, and recertification requirements for 203(k) consultants, direct endorsement (DE) underwriters, and nonprofits.

The draft Quality Control, Oversight, and Compliance—Other Participants in the FHA Transactions section contains information regarding the quality control, monitoring, and enforcement of 203(k) consultants, DE underwriters, and nonprofits.

Both sections and supporting information are posted for review and feedback on the Single Family Housing Policy Drafting Table on their respective web pages.

“It is important to note that the Other Participants sections of Doing Business with FHA and Quality Control, Oversight, and Compliance contain information pertaining to three, distinct FHA participant types: 203(k) consultants, direct endorsement (DE) underwriters, and nonprofits,” FHA says in a statement. “Depending on their interests, stakeholders may choose to review and provide feedback on all or only part(s) of the posted content.”
