FHA Launches Online Single-Family Housing Policy Handbook

The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) has launched its online “Single Family Housing Policy Handbook,” a comprehensive collection of forward mortgage policies that the agency began developing in 2013.

By transitioning the handbook from PDF files to the new, online site, the Web-based handbook aims to make it easier for lenders and other stakeholders to quickly find precise policy information, compare current policy with future effective policy, and share information directly from content pages.

The site contains the authoritative version of all completed sections of FHA’s future, consolidated “Single Family Housing Policy Handbook,” whose effective date was delayed until September 14, 2015, to give lenders an additional 90 days to adhere to its updates and policies. The original effective date for the handbook was June 15, 2015.
