Industry-leading reverse mortgage lender American Advisors Group (AAG) took home a total of 11 corporate excellence awards in 2021, including a Great Place to Work certification and a “Companies That Care” selection from the Orange County Business Journal.
“2021 was a tremendous year for us,” said Rebecca Pacillas, AAG Chief People Officer in a statement regarding the award wins. “We’ve put an enormous amount of work into building the best working environment possible, but these awards are really a product of our employees. They embody our core values and bring our culture to life. We’re all proud to be a part of AAG.”
Workplace culture monitoring organization Comparably awarded AAG with eight different accolades alone, including awards such as “best company” for women; diversity; career growth; work-life balance; leadership; sales team; and human resources, respectively.
The company also earned accolades in the local Orange County, Calif. Community for its primary headquarters, which was recognized as a top workplace solely based on a compilation of employee feedback gathered by a third-party surveying entity.
This past summer, AAG announced that it had moved its corporate headquarters to a new location in Irvine, Calif., expanding its footprint in the city’s Irvine Towers complex while consolidating its overall geographic footprint in its local community in order to reflect a new hybrid workforce model.
“After moving most of our workforce [to a] remote [model] in 2020, we found that many of our employees preferred the flexibility of working from home or the office, based on the needs of their job,” said AAG Founder and CEO Reza Jahangiri at the time. “We began reimagining our workforce, post-pandemic, based on a hybrid model. After evaluating our options, moving our headquarters to Irvine Towers, in the heart of Irvine’s ‘financial district,’ gives AAG greater access to Orange County’s talent pool, while maximizing the work-life benefits for our employees.”
When asked about the nature of remote work at AAG, company president Ed Robinson told RMD in an exclusive interview that the company’s hybrid workforce model reflects the reach of the organization.
“It’s interesting because we truly are a nationwide company,” Robinson told RMD in January. “We have call centers in several different states, we have distributed retail, we’re spread out across the country. We literally are a nationwide company. I think what’s happened is that our company has evolved very quickly. I was very impressed. When I came here, I saw another level as far as how people had adopted work from home.”
