This has been one of our most exciting Tech100 years yet. To call these companies innovative doesn’t do them justice.
They are transforming the mortgage and real estate experience and tapping into data usage in a way that, even just a few years ago, we couldn’t have imagined. What started as a trickle of fintech companies when we launched the Tech100 award in 2013 has emerged from the funnel as a surge of new startups, market shakers and tech companies looking to change everything.
Seven years ago, we had to hand-select many of our winners in our search to find cutting edge companies. Today, the market need and even the award itself has grown so large that we had to divide into two categories: mortgage and real estate.
This year has already seen tremendous growth here at HousingWire, and I’m excited to introduce several new sections to HW magazine. Check out our Local Intel section on page 16, where our Community Editor Brena Nath spotlights different markets across the U.S., and the unique things we are seeing there. Also new this issue is the launch of our first Startup Profile. In this section we introduce new startups, talk about their market impact and score them on the disruptiveness they will bring to the market.
This is going to be an innovative year for HW Magazine, and I’m excited about the new changes we will continue to implement. These new changes are just the beginning of a successful year ahead for HousingWire and for the housing industry. Fannie Mae recently reported that a survey of 200 lenders showed they will be more focused than ever on their digital strategy.
Let’s see what you’ve got, 2020.
