President Donald Trump is back at it, taking shots at Federal Reserve Bank Chairman Jerome Powell.
Bloomberg reports that according to three people present at a fundraising event in the Hamptons, Trump complained to Republican donors at a fundraiser in the Hamptons that Powell was raising interest rates.
This is the second instance in two months where Trump has publicly called the Fed's decision to raise interest rates into question. Back in July, Trump said he was “not thrilled” with the rate increases in an interview with CNBC and made comments that raised questions about whether or not he understood what degree of control he had over the Fed’s actions.
According to Bloomberg’s Dollar Spot index, the dollar dipped to its lowest daily level on Monday following the article's publication.
