The winners and losers

Taking a broader look at the impact of the Donald Trump winning the election, Global Political Scientist Ian Bremmer posted his assessment of what this election means, laying out a clear set of winners and losers.

“The world is heading into a profound (and longer term) geopolitical recession,” said Bremmer, who is the president of Eurasia Group. “A Trump presidency means the most significant hit to American power and leadership globally than any other event since the collapse of the Soviet Union.”

While Bremmer stated that Eurasia Group is anticipating a peaceful transition to a Trump administration, “Washington in 2017 will be a sea change from the Obama era.”
