Century 21 lists White House for #ElectionDay

Creates ad to encourage voting

Are you #MakeAmericaGreatAgain? Or #I'mWithHer? Either way, one real estate company isn't letting the presidential election slip by without capitalising on the headlines.

Today Americans will head to the poles to determine the next president, and the next resident of the White House.

Real estate company Century 21 created an advertisement saying that the White House is now up for sale in order to encourage Americans to get out and vote. Century 21 placed the advertisement on both its website and Facebook account

White House

The ad can be seen as a listing on Century 21’s website, which lists the White House at nearly $400 million. It describes some of the house’s attributes such as 16 beds, 35 baths and 54,900 square feet.

Here is the description from the listing:

Current tenants are vacating the property on January 20th, 2017. Lease available for 4 years with possible one-time option to renew for another four years. The property is elegantly built in the 18th century neoclassical style and once held the title of the largest home in the United States. The property showcases a wonderful rehab following a house fire in 1814. 132 rooms and 35 baths accompany 52 acres of land right in the heart of historic Washington, DC. 43 occupants have previously resided in the mansion, dating back to 1800. House comes complete with magnificent egg shaped office and spectacular security detail. Outdoor swimming pool with cabana, steel bunker, and a bowling alley in basement make this space perfect for families. Only a 6-minute walk to McPherson Sq Metro Station. Move-in ready! Furnished with a desk perfect for signing your bills!**

Below, the listing specifies that it is not, of course, a real listing, and that the company encourages Americans to get out and vote.

An often misguided premise I see on social media is that lower mortgage rates are doing nothing for housing demand. That’s ok — very few people are looking at the data without an agenda. However, the point of this tracker is to show you evidence that lower rates have already changed housing data. So, let’s […]
