National Rental Home Council appoints new executive director

Company hires former NAWBO president and CEO

The National Rental Home Council recently announced Diane Tomb as its new executive director.

Tomb’s responsibilities will now include leading the industry’s efforts to engage with stakeholders and members of the public to educate them on the importance of the growing housing sector and its positive impact on communities across the country.

“We are pleased to have Diane’s leadership during this exciting time in our industry,” said John Bartling, NRHC board president and Invitation Homes CEO. “Diane has a proven track record and possesses the right mix of skills to lead the continued growth of our organization.”

“Her wealth of industry knowledge, policy expertise and more than 25 years of experience in this arena are a great match for the NRHC,” Bartling said.

Previously, Tomb founded the public affairs and business advisory firm Tomb & Associates in 2003. Later, she served as president and CEO of the National Association of Women Business Owners, where she represented members on public policy issues before Congress and at the White House.

Before that, she worked as assistant secretary of public affairs at the Department of Housing and Urban Development and in the White House during the Reagan and Bush administrations. She also served as senior vice president of communications at the Fannie Mae Foundation. Currently, she serves as a commissioner on the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Commission on Political Reform.

“I am honored and thrilled to have the opportunity to lead and be the voice for this fast growing organization,” Tomb said.

“Single-family rental housing plays a critical role in today’s housing market by providing residents and families the option of renting attractive, high-quality single family homes and providing important economic investment in communities across the nation,” she said.
