Hedge fund manager sells Connecticut estate for $13.6 million

Reduced by more than half original listed price

Hedge fund manager Jerrold Fine sold his estate in Redding, Connecticut, for $13.6 million, according to an article by Candace Taylor for The Wall Street Journal. The estate had been on the market since 2012 and had been reduced down from $27.5 million.

Realtor Jane Tullo most recently listed the 300-acre estate for $19.5 million before selling it, and setting a record at $13.6 million, according to the article.

From the article:

Ms. Tullo declined to identify the seller but said he grew the property over the years by combining adjacent parcels, and wanted to find a buyer who would keep the property as open space rather than develop it. According to public records, the sellers were Jerrold and Sally Fine. Mr. Fine was a founding managing partner of the hedge fund Steinhardt, Fine & Berkowitz in the 1960s before leaving to start Westport, Conn.-based hedge fund Charter Oak Partners.
