Interested in owning a little piece of New York Yankees’ history? Well, you’re in luck because you can buy the New York apartment built and once owned by Babe Ruth.
The price tag for the “home that Ruth Built” on the Upper West Side? $1.595 million.
The New York Post has the details on the two-bedroom, three-bathroom co-op where Ruth lived toward the end of his Yankee career.

The Douglas Elliman listing touts the home’s location and amenities such as a live-in super and storage space. But, amazingly, the fact that Ruth once called it home is the last sentence of the pitch.
“Well run, pet friendly. Has a part-time doorman, live-in super, bike room and storage bins. In a terrific UWS location. Babe Ruth lived in this very apartment,” the listing reads.
“My fondest memories (of the apartment) are of me and Father listening to ‘The Green Hornet’ on the radio and looking out to Riverside Park,’’ Ruth’s daughter, 98-year-old Julia Ruth Stevens, told The Post.
According to the Post report, when Ruth lived in the apartment, the unit was 11 rooms and took up the entire floor. At some point after Ruth sold the unit and moved out, the apartment was divided into two units.
And if you have $1.6 million to spend and you’re looking for a new home, you can get your hands on Ruth’s place. Well, half of it anyway.
