Rob Barber takes the reins as RealtyTracÕ new CEO

Jamie Moyle becomes chair of the innovation committee of the board of directors

RealtyTrac, a provider of comprehensive housing data, welcomed a new chief executive officer this week, as Rob Barber took over for Jamie Moyle as CEO.

Barber’s hiring was announced in late July, but he officially assumed the CEO role on Monday. Moyle has been elevated to become the chair of the innovation committee for RealtyTrac’s the board of directors.

Barber (pictured above) joins RealtyTrac from Environmental Data Resources, where he was also CEO.

During his tenure at EDR, he was responsible for doubling the company’s share in the engineering market, expanding successfully into multiple high growth adjacent markets, and innovating new platform solutions that deliver both content and workflow value to the property due diligence industry, RealtyTrac said in a release.

Barber is also a past board member at BuildFax, Landmark Information Group and the content division of the Software and Information Industry Association.

Moyle said he is excited by what Barber can bring to RealtyTrac.

“We’ve been on a roll this past year,” Moyle said. “Rob Barber will make an amazing addition to the team and will build on the success and momentum that RealtyTrac has going into 2016.”

Moyle said that he feels that the recent changes at the company have RealtyTrac well-positioned for future success.

“Three and half years ago this company was collecting data for a single purpose,” Moyle continued. “We have successfully leveraged that capability to expand our scope and empower other businesses to achieve their goals. 2016 will be an exciting year of data expansion and product innovation.”

Barber called joining RealtyTrac a “dream come true” for him.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the company at such an important time,” Barber said. “I have the opportunity at RealtyTrac to bring my experience in leading a high growth real estate information services company to an organization with a fantastic heritage, great content foundation, huge growth ambitions and a stellar team.”
