Fort Washington, Pennsylvania-based Ditech Mortgage Corp expanded its consumer direct channel into the Jacksonville, Florida, area, with plans to hire a team of direct-to-consumer home loan specialists and processors over the next two months.
So far, the company has hired 25 full-time employees and plans to have the full team up and running by the end of August.
“With our consumer direct channel growing rapidly, the Jacksonville location offered us a terrific expansion opportunity to add additional sales and operations staff in order to meet market demand,” said Dan McLaren, vice president of consumer lending sales at ditech.
“Overall, we are looking to more than double our originations team between the Fort Washington and Jacksonville locations. We look forward to continued growth in our consumer direct channel, and the Jacksonville location is key to helping us achieve our goals,” McLaren added.
When mortgage lender ditech relaunched back into the industry in March 2014, it did so with a new business plan, including direct consumer lending, retail lending and correspondent lending with its "600-plus institutional partners.”
And over a year later, the mortgage lender has made several announcements in the industry, including opening several new retail lending branches in “key” U.S. markets back in March. The new retail branches are in Washington, Oregon, Utah, Ohio and Illinois.
