Auction.com adds Bin Xu as vice president of engineering

Will oversee platform and database technology

Auction.com, the online real estate marketplace, added Bin Xu as the company’s new vice president of engineering.

In this role, Xu will lead Auction.com’s database and platform engineering teams and oversee technical aspects of the company’s auction control center and bidder communications, the company said in a release.

Xu brings more than 20 years of experience to Auction.com. He previously served as vice president of engineering for Acxiom Corporation (ACXM), where he oversaw platform engineering, and Angie’s List (ANGI), where he managed member-facing products and experience development, quality assurance, and related technical operations.

In addition to his leadership roles at Acxiom and Angie’s List, Xu has provided his technical expertise to Cloud technologies, software and products offered by Huawei Technologies, Magnet Systems, the Odesk Corporation, WebEx Communications before it was acquired by Cisco, and five other technology companies, Auction.com said.

“Auction.com remains the top online real estate marketplace because we are constantly refining and enhancing our platform to ensure the best possible user experience and exceed the expectations of buyers and sellers,” Auction.com Chief Technology Officer Ravi Keswani said. “Having Bin’s energy and ability at the helm of Auction.com’s engineering teams will ensure our products continue to shape how the real estate industry does business.”

Xu said that he is excited about the opportunity at Auction.com.

“I am thrilled to be working with a world-class engineering team to deliver scalable, performing software and services that will continue to enable transparent, simple and trustworthy online real estate transactions,” Xu said.
