Auction.com announced the addition of Lawrence Yuan as the online real estate marketplace’s new senior director of engineering. In this role, Yuan will oversee the development of web and mobile products and applications that enhance how buyers, sellers and real estate professionals access and interact with the Auction.com platform, the company said in a release.
Yuan joins Auction.com from LinkedIn, where he spent the last four years leading engineering teams, including those responsible for the LinkedIn homepage, news feed, notification and email products.
“User experience has always been a top priority for Auction.com in our mission to make online real estate transactions as easy, transparent and secure as possible for an audience that is becoming increasingly mobile,” said Auction.com Chief Technology Officer Ravi Keswani. “With his proven track record of developing tools and processes that help companies more effectively interact with their customers, we are pleased to welcome Lawrence Yuan as a valuable addition to our team.”
Earlier in his 17-year career, Yuan also spent time with Yahoo and IronPort Systems and is co-inventor of six patent-pending algorithms and frameworks that have helped social media platforms tailor message delivery times according to each member’s unique location, profile and when they typically use the platform, Auction.com said.
Yuan said he is excited to join Auction.com.
“Auction.com is innovating the way in which real estate is bought and sold, incorporating technology to both simplify and enhance the experience of each person involved in every transaction,” Yuan said. "It’s exciting that we’re seeing a shift where people are starting to purchase seven figure properties on a mobile device. And, it’s clear that the company has something special to offer.”
