During its recent Business Development Seminar in Las Vegas, the National REO Brokers Association held an impromptu live auction, which ended with nearly $62,000 raised for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The majority of the money raised in the auction came from NRBA President Michael Krein and NRBA Vice President Jack O’Leary being auctioned off.
But this was no fraternity auction, with the winner securing a date to the sock hop with Krein or O’Leary. Instead, Krein and O’Leary will travel to the winning bidder’s offices to help train its real estate agents on the newly released Real Estate Information Organizer technology platform.
Krein was auctioned off four times for a total of $44,000. “I was auctioned off for $11,000 four times, which accounts for most of the funds that were raised in mere minutes,” said Krein.
“We were delighted to continue our support for Make-A-Wish, for which the NRBA has raised nearly $3 million since 2002.”
As part of the auction, Krein agreed to visit each of the four winning bidders and host a live training and recruiting event, with particular focus on RIO Office, which Krein said is “the most exciting new real estate technology platform available on the market.”
Additional auction items included “tongue-in-cheek” souvenirs and other unique items associated with Las Vegas, the NBRA said.
