National Mortgage Insurance Corp., a subsidiary of NMI Holdings (NMIH), has named William Leatherberry as its general counsel. Leatherberry joins National MI from Century Aluminum (CENX), where he served as executive vice president, chief legal officer, general counsel and secretary.
Leatherberry had been with Century since 2005 and brings more than 20 years of corporate legal experience to National MI.
“We are pleased to bring on a general counsel with Bill’s experience and expertise,” said Bradley Shuster, president and CEO of National MI. “His corporate background and experience with mergers and acquisitions, securities law, corporate governance and compliance oversight make Bill an outstanding addition to National MI.”
Earlier in his career, Leatherberry was a corporate associate with the law firm Jones Day.
