Mortgage insurer Radian (RDN) wrote $2.97 billion in new primary mortgage insurance in May 2014.
That's way up from numbers just two months ago when the new book of insurance business was reported below $2 billion.
Radian began the month with 50,994 loans in its delinquent inventory and ended the period with 50,212 delinquencies on file. Again, this represents a big improvement.
Two months ago the delinquent inventory was above 58,000.
However, when looking at the monthly numbers there are 3,984 new delinquencies, which was offset by 3,460 cures, 1,307 paid-off mortgages and 1 rescission and denial.
That is generally flat when compared to than the March numbers .
