September home sales in the Seattle area hit their highest level in seven years. However, sales fell slightly short of the longer-term average for that month and slipped a bit more than usual from August, a DataQuick report said.
Meanwhile, the median price paid for a home fell month-to-month, but was 11% higher when compared to year ago levels.
A total of 5,013 new and resale houses and condos closed escrow during September in the Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue metro area encompassing King, Snohomish and Pierce counties. Seattle sales fell 16.7% from the month before and rose 23.1% from a year earlier, according to San Diego-based DataQuick.
