Foreclosures drop 27% in SE Wisconsin

According to the Journal Sentinel, mortgage foreclosure filings dropped almost 27% in southeastern Wisconsin in October from one year ago, but topped 600 for the first time since March.

Court records show there were 650 foreclosure filings in Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Walworth, Washington and Waukesha counties last month, compared with 887 in October a year ago.

October recorded the biggest monthly total in the last eight months for the region, with Waukesha County posting its most filings in more than a year and Milwaukee County its most since March.
