Dallas-Fort Worth foreclosure filings drop 49% annually

According to the Dallas Morning News, the number of Dallas-Fort Worth area homes facing foreclosure fell 49% from a year ago.

Lenders have posted 2,133 homes for forced sale at next month’s foreclosure auctions in the four-county area, according to Foreclosure Listing Service.

Through the first 11 months of this year, home foreclosure filings in the D-FW area are running more than 40 percent below a year ago.

“I think we are now running at normal numbers,” Foreclosure Listing Service CEO George Roddy said Monday. “I can’t think of anything that will bring it back up high."
