NeighborWorks America appointed Kirsten Johnson-Obey senior vice president of the organization’s public policy and legislative affairs division this week.
Johnson-Obey, who will report directly to CEO Eileen Fitzgerald, is set to provide the strategic direction and vision for the organization on the public policy side. Her responsibilities will cross over into Congressional appropriations and intergovernmental affairs.
A 25-year veteran of Capitol Hill, Johnson-Obey brings extensive legislative experience and has a strong background in affordable housing and consumer-related legislation. Johnson-Obey has already worked on issues related to the Dodd-Frank Act and the role of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
