Starts 2013 congressional caucus

It is a busy week for lenders in Washington D.C., with credit unions becoming more aggressive in reaching out to policy makers. The National Association of Federal Credit Unions kicked off its “Storming the Hill” 2013 congressional caucus on Monday.

With the focus in Washington on so many issues critical to credit unions, the Caucus will put industry leaders in the right place at the right time,” said the association’s chief executive, Dan Berger.

“Credit union leaders will gain insight from and access to lawmakers and others directly involved in regulatory relief, tax reform, housing finance reform, debit interchange and more. This year’s Caucus, ‘Storming the Hill,’ is where credit unions will make their concerns known to legislators in Washington," he added.
