MGIC wrote $3.2B in new insurance last month

That is up from $2.8B in June

Mortgage insurer MGIC Investment Corp. (MTG) wrote $3.2 billion in new mortgage insurance last month, up from $2.8 billion in June.

The insurer started the month of July with 117,105 delinquent loans in its inventory, a figure that declined to 115,755 by month’s end.

During the period, 7,743 loans were cured, another 2,998 were paid off and 165 ended up classified as rescissions or denials.
