BHGRE’s Ginger Wilcox on the industry’s ability to adapt and change
Today’s RealTrending features Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate’s President Ginger Wilcox. With her extensive leadership experience in mortgage, real estate technology and more, Wilcox brings a fresh perspective to real estate brokerage.
Wilcox discusses the changes that may come to the industry, the opportunities born out of a challenging market and recent commission lawsuit verdicts as well as some of the technology trends sure to impact how real estate professionals manage their businesses.
Here is a small preview of today’s interview. The transcript below has been lightly edited for length and clarity:
Tracey Velt: You have mortgage background, so what are you bringing with you to the real estate side to bring real estate and mortgage closer together?
Ginger Wilcox: Great question. It’s really interesting because despite what you would think would be this symbiotic relationship between mortgage and real estate, having worked on both sides, I find that there’s still a pretty big divide in terms of how these the industries think and operate. And I’m really excited to see how real estate and mortgage can come together more holistically, obviously in a way that’s compliant.
But think about that full experience for the consumer because they are so closely tied. Understanding how each side fundamentally operates and works I think is really key to breaking down a lot of the silos that happen in the spaces. That has been a key focus for me as I think about how we work with our partners across the industry.
